- Absolute Wonder Woman (2024) #1-2. 5/5. hell yeah. GORGEOUS art and an incredibly interesting storyline. dc comics continues to only be good at origin stories, a shame they can't just do those 24/7 lmaoo. anyway yeah this was instantly added to my pull list bc hot damn. plus the diana fit goes CRAZY

- Birds of Prey (2023) #1-2. 3/5. now not to speculate too hard but this reeeeaaally gives "editorial told me I couldn't use x character or x character or x character and then still expected me to make a coherent team." hate harley as always, zealot is deeply uninteresting to me, but hey at least barda and cass are adorable I would genuinely read this just for those two. can't wait for babs to be here in the future. also maps potential future dropped??

- Batman and Robin: Year One (2024) #2. 5/5. andddd another one!! continues to be gorgeous, continues to be impressive. strikes a brilliant balance between dick being competent and childish. love the child worker side of things -- it gives a certain level of care to what otherwise is a story about a billionaire plucking a newly orphaned child off the face of the map.

- Batman and Robin: Year One (2024) #1. 5/5. LOVE THEMMMM oh my god the art style is incredible, bruce strikes a brilliant balance between being his traditional batman self and also genuinely very caring for dick as his partner. dick is impulsive and stupid but he's also like 10 and bruce honestly doesn't seem to blame him for BEING impulsive and stupid -- this feels like a version of bruce that is far less jaded and I really do like that

- Titans (2023) #1. 1.5/5. genuinely it's like dc comics is allergic to writing comics that are interesting. like comparing issue 1 of titans 1999 to this is like night and day you can really see how stupid and plastic this all is. GOD I hate the hyperrealistic art style it's so yucky it completely destroys the entire range of human emotion that could have been displayed through facial and body exaggeration. "we are three minutes from a huge nuclear explosion that would change history forever" WE ARE 10 PAGES IN. THEY COULDNT HAVE EVEN ENTERED THE BUILDING YET? this shit sucks. why does tempest have green eyes. garth I miss you garth come back. I miss wally too
- The Question: All Along the Watchtower #1. 4/5. BEAUTIFUL opening, long stretch of boring exposition, then a genuinely interesting setup for a continuing solo at the very end. but oh boy that middle... "look at all of these justice league characters we got permission to cram into one comic" okayyy. the art is also really pretty. 4 stars because I'll be thinking about "how do you say no to that? to flying into the skies with a god?" for a while. what a beautiful thesis on superheroing as a whole. once the (wayyyy too much) exposition is over I do think the plot is hooking me a reasonable amount. also oh my god did bruce set this up to matchmake kanee what is happening. kate is so pretty
